Before you ask, there is a reason for this apparent inability to spot obvious patterns. For you see, whenever anyone asks what my hobbies are, or what I want to do when I finish university, I always proudly reply that I consider myself a cartoonist and writer. This results in some interesting conversation for a few moments, until they ask if they would know any of my work. Then I less proudly reply that the few things that I have got published, were in places that they wouldn’t have heard of. And by the time I can get something ready to show them, the moment has passed, and they don’t care anymore.

So that’s why I’ve decided to post some of the stuff I do online, in the form of a brand spanking new blog and deviantART account. That way, I can just give them a quick link, and they can at least take a look at my work before they don’t care anymore.

Of course, there’s still a pretty good chance I’ll run out of things to write about, anyway. But because my exams are over (woo-hoo!), I’ve got loads of free time now, so I can at least fill the blog up with tales and examples of the aforementioned cartoons and writings. Things you can look forward to in the not-too-distant future, include a relatively short detective story with loads of dark humour, and explanations of some of the stories and jokes in a webcomic I’m starting soon (because, obviously, a joke is only funny if you have to explain it).

And finally, if you’re interested, I don’t suffer from insomnia. My blog title, as many Scrubs or Colin Hay fans might know, is in fact the opening lyric from the song “Overkill” – by the latter and featured in the first episode of the second season of the former. And if you weren’t interested – well it’s too late.
